INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup butter , melted
1 cup light Karo syrup
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs , lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups pecans , broken into small pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 dash salt
1pie crust

DIRECTIONS

Melt butter. In a medium bowl, add butter, Karo syrup and sugar and mix well.
Add beaten eggs, vanilla,nuts & salt.
Pour into a pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.You can do a toothpick test which should be only slightly wet.

Grandma D’s Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda , dissolved in
1 teaspoon hot water
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 (12ounce)bag milk chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix together shortening, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.
Add the baking soda that has been dissolved in hot water.
Mix together the flour and salt in a separate bowl, then add to the first mixture.

1/2 cup butter , softened
2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs , well beaten
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg

1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup vinegar , tarragon flavored if possible
3 eggs , beaten fluffy
5 lbs potatoes , peeled, cooked and diced
5 green onions

6 eggs , hard boiled and chopped

Grandma Ruby’s Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
5-6 cups flour (more if needed when rolling out dough)
