Thanksgiving Fruit Compote

INGREDIENTS

1 cup apple juice
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup dried apricot halves, quartered
1/2 cup whole dried figs , sliced
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Mix everything in saucepan, simmer gently for 15 minutes, let cool.

Spiced Fruit Compote for 2

INGREDIENTS

1 (8ounce)can fruit cocktail
1/8 teaspoon allspice

DIRECTIONS

Heat fruit cocktail (with syrup) and allspice to boiling. Serve warm. Nice in winter.

Dried Fruit Compote

INGREDIENTS

2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 ounces dried apricots, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
4 ounces pitted dried plums , chopped (about 3/4 cup)
4 ounces dried pear halves , chopped (about 3/4 cup)

DIRECTIONS

Stir water, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves.Add the fruit and bring to a simmer.

Crock Pot Apple Cranberry Compote

INGREDIENTS

5-6 cooking apples , peeled and sliced
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup port wine
sour cream
