Canned Clam Chowder Made Better

INGREDIENTS

2 (18 1/2ounce)cans ready to serve New England clam chowder
1 (6 1/2ounce)can chopped clams
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
4 slices bacon , cooked crisp and crumbled

DIRECTIONS

Pour soup into 2 quart sauce pan.

Add chopped clams and 2 tablespoons of juice from clams.

Add thyme, salt and pepper.

Stir all together and heat over medium heat until bubbly then let simmer on low for 20 minutes.

Quick and Easy ” Canned” Soup

INGREDIENTS

2 lbs ground beef (browned and seasoned to taste)
2 (15ounce)cans tomato sauce (plus 2 cans water)
1 (14 1/2ounce)can whole kernel corn (drained)
2 (15ounce)cans Veg-All (drained)
1 (15ounce)can stewed tomatoes (or diced tomatoes)
2 bay leaves

DIRECTIONS

Brown ground beef and add the seasoning of your choice.
Put all the ingredients into a pot or even a crock pot.
Simmer until piping hot.

Easy Canned Navy Beans

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups dried navy beans
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Put 1 1/2 Cups Dry Navy beans in eachquart jar.
Add salt as desired.
Fill Jar with boiling water to 1 inch from the top.
Put on lids and rings.
Place in canner with hot water.
Pressure can at 10 lbs. pressure for 20 minutes.

Canned Spaghetti Sauce

INGREDIENTS

6 quarts roma tomatoes , juiced
2 cups chopped onions
6fresh crushed garlic cloves or
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
6 tablespoons parsley flakes
4 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons anise seed
1/4 cup sugar
2 (12ounce)cans tomato paste

DIRECTIONS

Put tomato juice on the stove, bring to a boil.
Add remaining ingredients and let simmer for 2 hours.
Put hot into quart jars or pints.
Wipe tops of jars and place lids and rings on.
Put in canner.
Pressure can at 5lbs. pressure for 8 minutes.
