Aunt Edna’s Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
1 pinch salt
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sour cream

DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl, cream sugar and shortening together.

Add salt and eggs and mix well.

Add vanilla and mix well.

Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and sour cream and mix well.

Aunt Mary’s Chicken Chowder Quick & Easy

INGREDIENTS

2 chicken breasts , cooked and chopped
15 ounces chicken broth
15 ounces cream of potato soup
15 ounces cream of chicken soup
15 ounces whole kernel corn
10 ounces canned mushrooms, drained
10 ounces chopped green chilies
1/4 cup milk
4 dashes Tabasco sauce
salt & pepper

Aunt Helen’s Egg Nog

INGREDIENTS

2 eggs (or the equivalent Egg Beaters egg substitute)
1 (14ounce)can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 quart milk
1 cup whipped cream
nutmeg
alcohol (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Beat together eggs, condensed milk and vanilla.
Slowly beat in milk.
Gently fold in whipped cream.
If you are adding alcohol, rum, brandy or bourbon are the traditional choices.
Sprinkle nutmeg on top to taste.

Aunt Ely’s Pumpkin Bread

INGREDIENTS

4 eggs
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups pumpkin (16 oz. can)
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

DIRECTIONS

Beat 4 eggs gently with 3 cups of sugar.
Add 1 cup of oil, 1/3 cup of water and 2 cups which equals 1 - 16 oz. can of pumpkin.

Add 3½ cups of sifted flour, 2 tsps of baking soda, ½ teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoons of cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
