INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 2 teaspoons shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 egg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream together the shortening, sugar, and egg.
  2. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the milk to the creamed mixture and mix with the flour mixture.
  4. Fill greased muffin cups half-full. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  5. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in microwave. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the puffs in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
