INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 lb fully cooked kielbasa or Polish sausage , chopped
  • 1 small onion , chopped
  • 1/4 cup green peppers , chopped
  • 1 garlic clove , minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 (8ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 4 slices American cheese , halved
  • 1egg white (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional)
  • sesame seeds (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. In large skillet, cook sausage for 5-8 minutes; drain.
  2. Add onion, green pepper, garlic, and butter; cook until tender.
  3. Stir in barbecue sauce; heated through.
  4. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 8 rectangles; seal perforations.
  5. Place a cheese slice on half of each rectangle; top with 2 tablespoons of kielbasa mixture.
  6. Fold dough over filling and pinch edges to seal; fold seam under.
  7. If using sesame seeds, beat the egg white and water and brush over the dough; sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Place seam side down on greased baking sheets.
  9. Bake at 350* for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
