INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small onion , minced
  • 4 garlic cloves , minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • salt (to taste)
  • ground pepper (to taste)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt butter in a large kettle.
  2. Brown onion and garlic together.
  3. Add all other ingredients and mix well.
  4. Simmer for approximately 35-45 minutes.
  5. Brush on meats or serve cold as a dip.
  6. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
