INGREDIENTS
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup chilled butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Streusal Topping Combine
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- In a large bowl stir together flour,sugar, baking powder and salt.
- With a pastry blender cut butter in finely.
- Stir in cheese.
- Beat egg well. Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, all at once, stir just until moistened.
- Spread half of the batter into a greased 8" (2L) cake pan, top with half of the streusal topping.
- Spread with remaining batter and top with remaining streusal topping.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
