INGREDIENTS

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup chilled butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Streusal Topping Combine

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl stir together flour,sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. With a pastry blender cut butter in finely.
  3. Stir in cheese.
  4. Beat egg well. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  5. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, all at once, stir just until moistened.
  6. Spread half of the batter into a greased 8" (2L) cake pan, top with half of the streusal topping.
  7. Spread with remaining batter and top with remaining streusal topping.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
