INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon shortening (melted)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix salt and flour, add 1/2 the milk until smooth.
  2. Add remaining 1/2 of the milk , well beaten egg and shorting.
  3. Beat 2 minutes with egg beater.
  4. Turn into hot greased iron gem pans and bake about 35 minutes in hot oven 450 degrees.
  5. Then reduce the temperture to 350 degrees and bake about 15 minutes longer.
  6. Pop-Overs can also be made using 1/3 cup whole-wheat and 2/3 cup white flour.
