INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup very warm water
DIRECTIONS
- Place flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the shortening, and mix until it resembles course crumbs. Add the water a little at a time, mixing with a fork until the dough pulls together. Form as many 2 in balls from the dough as you can. Cover and let rest 20 minute.
- Preheat a dry skillet. Roll each ball out on a lightly floured surface. Cook about 30-45 seconds on each side. Keep warm by placing them in the folds of a clean dish towel. Recipe can be doubled to freeze.
