INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup Crisco
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 5-6 tablespoons ice water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine flour, cheese and salt in large bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening until coarse crumbs form.
  3. Sprinkle water into mixture a tablespoon at a time. Press dough with one hand adding water until a ball forms.
  4. Let chill 1 hour.
  5. This recipe will make 1 (2 crust) 8 or 9 inch pie.Bake according to pie directions.
  6. This also works well in food processor.
