INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb hot Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon roasted garlic , minced
  • 1/2 cup onions , diced
  • 1 (9ounce)package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 (26ounce)jar tomato and basil pasta sauce (I use Bertolli)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt (or to taste)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place onions, garlic and olive oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Squeeze sausage from casing into pan.
  3. Cook until meat is brown and no pink remains (about 10 minutes), stirring frequently and breaking meat up as it cooks.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.Bring to boil and cook 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
