INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup softened margarine
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 bananas , mashed about 4 cups
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C).
  2. Lightly grease 2 loaf pans 9"x5".
  3. In a large bowl, cream together margarine sugar and eggs.
  4. Stir in bananas and vanilla.
  5. Sift in flour, baking soda and cocoa; mix well.
  6. Blend in sour cream and chocolate chips and nut (optional).
  7. Pour into prepared pans.
  8. Bake in pre-heated oven for 1 hour or until a tookpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  9. Options: using them for gifts? It makes 57"x5" loaf pans, and bake for 55 minutes.
