INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs , beaten
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Blend sugars, shortening, and eggs.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder then add to sugar mixture.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.Mix well.
  5. Add oatmeal.
  6. Drop by teaspoon onto baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 - 10 minutes.
